It's an old-school type of meter that relies on outdated technology. These meters use a radio signal to do their thing, like switching between peak and off-peak times. But with the signal being retired, there could be some impact on your energy service.

This will happen to everyone with an RTS meter, regardless of their provider. How much functionality is lost will depend on your meter. Some may stop recording off-peak/peak tariffs properly and some may lose the ability to turn on electrical heating systems completely, leaving you without heating and hot water.
