Ofwat regulates the water and sewerage industries in England and Wales by setting the price, investment and service package that customers receive. This includes setting the prices that wholesalers are able to charge for non-domestic water services.
Safe and reliable water and wastewater services are essential for our day to day lives, our wellbeing and our natural world. Customers expect better service and lasting environmental improvements, including reducing pollution, improved resilience, adapting to climate change and working towards net zero emissions.
Ofwat’s PR24 Price Review set the price, investment and service packages for 2025 to 2030*. Over the next 5 years, water wholesalers will undertake the largest investment in water and wastewater services at an overall cost of £104 billion.
To fund this investment, wholesalers have been allowed by Ofwat to increase the cost of water, which means the price you pay for your water service will increase. The amount of the increase will vary by wholesale region. We’ll let you know when your price will change and when you can view the new charges on your Customer Zone.
